WOMEN AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

Updated: Feb 3, 2022

February is American Heart Health Month!

Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the number 1 cause of death and disability in both men and women of all ethnicities worldwide? If that is not shocking enough, throw in the fact that it is also preventable!

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women over age 25 in the United States, regardless of race or ethnicity. The death rate from cardiovascular diseases has decreased among men, but continues to increase in women.

Unfortunately, only 1 in 3 of women identify cardiovascular disease as the greatest health problem facing women today. Most women think that breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women. But cardiovascular disease is the single leading cause of death for women in America and most developed countries, and claims the lives of more women than all forms of cancer combined. Read more here...

To me, this absolutely staggering. These facts are my motivation for providing education and natural prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

There are so many factors that contribute to heart disease and my goal is to help you evaluate each one and create a natural, holistic plan to achieve optimal heart and over-all wellbeing.

Some of these factors include:

Family History

Poor Diet

Low Exercise

Stress

Mental/Emotional disease

Digestive disease

Chronic inflammation

Fatigue

Food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances

Obesity

Diabetes

Hormonal Imbalances

It's not about looking at blood test results and prescribing pharmaceuticals to manage each value that is out of the "normal range". Don't get me wrong, I am not against the appropriate use of medications. They can be life-saving. I am against being on several medications to manage symptoms and more medications to manage side effects.

I am, however, an advocate for using natural medicine to bring the body into a state of balance and offering the tools each person needs to maintain that balance. My approach consists of dietary and lifestyle counseling, digestive and detoxification support, herbal medicine and nutrient therapy.

Are you ready to beat the statistics and life a full, energetic life? It would be an honor to walk with you and help facilitate your journey to optimal heart health and vitality.

Here's to your health,

Dr. Mead
